When we went to the lake on Friday I took along some blank tags and water color pencils 

Just doodled and had fun - so easy to slip on a gift.

Happy 4th of July

Green Valley Lake in Running Springs -

We got up early yesterday and headed for cooler weather - 

It was beautiful - a breeze off the lake and the sun on our faces

The boys fished but were disappointed as they didn't catch anything.

We are just relaxing today - 

I know I've been a "absent" blogger - but I am going to try to be better about it. I am going to post on Sunday's at least and more if time permits.

I've been updating my scrapbooks lately, I put all my 2008 photos in an album, I will take it with me to football practices that start in August and do my journaling. I prefer to do the two things separately - when I sit down with my book to doodle and journal I can focus more on my photos to tell my stories. But for now I'm thrilled that they are in a book.

All different and very cool. I enjoy on line classes as I can work on it at my leisure in the comfort of my home at wee hours of the morning if I choose.

My son said something to me yesterday:

"Mom", he says, "you know that commercial about the abused animals"

"yes" i answer

"it touched my heart"

"yes, it's very sad"

he says "you know the music they  play"

"Yes" I answer

it touches my heart, it almost makes me cry

i say - "yes honey it's awful what some people do to animals"

then he says "what's abuse?"

of course I explained it to him

Altered file folder - it's now ready for photos and journaling.

My niece will be going to "hotel management" school this July - she will be going to a school in Switzerland, something she has had planned for years. I have made her an album the says "The Journey of Me" - I have included lots of blank pages for journals, photos, memorabilia of her days away from home.

Harry Kalas will be missed

I'm sure you have all heard that Harry Kalas (my uncle) passed yesterday - it was so sudden.

He will be missed by so many.

Les Petite Doll just started

I have all this week off from work - woo hoo!!!!!!!

I started this les petite doll (suzi blu is my inspiration and teacher)

i hope to have it and another one down by the end of the week. She is on a big piece of wood

so excited to have some free time to work on art projects I've started.

In addition to the time off my son went away for spring break this week so I am a free woman

 yipee!!!!

Handmade gifts

 

My girlfriend suz - Alive in Wonderful is taking the "handmade pledge" and buying handmade items for christmas gifts - 

I am taking the same pledge. 

I've already started on my Christmas cards, next I will work on my gift tags then I will start shopping for my gifts from etsy.

I'm really going to try to buy only handmade things - wish me luck
